We love jeans. We want you to understand our love. That is why we offer you our most beautiful designs. But to enjoy denim clothes for a long time, so that they do not lose color and shape, you need to take care of them in the right way. So we suggest how to take care of jeans and what to pay attention to when washing.
First of all, due to hygiene issues. Production, storage, transport – these clothes need refreshing. In addition, in the production process and during dyeing, we use chemicals that fix the color, ensuring that the clothes maintain their shape. And although we wash the clothes many times throughout the creative process, it is worth washing them before the first wearing.
How to wash safely and without damage?
It takes about half a year. By following the care instructions correctly, you can be sure that after that time your clothes will gain character and an individual look.
In this case – the less the better. Each, even
the most delicate washing shortens the "life" of jeans by a few moments. Think about it
so next time and believe us – you can wear your favorite pair of pants
4 to 5 times before it goes into the washing machine.
Usually 30-40 degrees is enough. However, check the label sewn into the inside of the garment carefully. There you will find information specifically intended for a given item. Remember that the composition of the fabric is very important - for example, those with the addition of synthetic fibers deteriorate slightly faster when exposed to too high a temperature.
Not only the temperature, but also the number of revolutions is important when washing such a specific material as jeans. Try not to set the washing machine to more than 800 revolutions. This is especially important for fabrics with an admixture of synthetic fibers. High revolutions and high temperature are rather unfavorable factors for them. And although the addition of synthetics makes the material drape better, is more flexible and more pleasant to wear, it is also more demanding
in care.
Or maybe your washing machine has a special program for washing jeans – check it out and use it if you have the option.
It's a fairly simple and obvious matter. Jeans are often dyed, so it happens that they "release" their color during washing. It's worth spending a moment to sort and separate them into light and dark.
This is a good way to protect the correct side from abrasion and fading. You also have the peace of mind that the zipper won't catch on other clothes.
Make sure the detergent does not contain bleach. Apart from that, you can use anything you normally use to wash colored or delicate items. And most importantly – do not use fabric softener. It softens the fibers, which is not desirable in the case of jeans. The fabric loses elasticity, the fibers are damaged, and as a result, it can also deteriorate faster.
Your washing machine may need cleaning – consider doing that first.
Soak your clothes in vinegar and water before washing.
Once again, we draw attention to the composition of the fabric. The key is the addition of synthetic fibers, which are highly damaged by the high temperature of the dryer. The heat generated during the drying process could melt them or weaken them so much that your favorite pair of pants will simply rip the next time you wear them. The best thing you can do for your jeans is to dry them slowly in the open air.
Usually this is a completely unnecessary process that just takes up unnecessary time. Jeans usually straighten out during wear. However, if you really think it is necessary – do it on the wrong side.
You can hand wash our unique jeans with beautiful details. This will definitely be the best solution for them. However, remember:
- clean the dirt with a mild detergent, it can be regular soap
- use sponges, not brushes, and do not rub the material too hard
- use lukewarm, not hot water
- squeeze out excess water well and hang to dry
At by elsewear you will also find completely unique denim fabrics with cashmere touch or even with the addition of cashmere. They look beautiful, and the comfort of wearing them is a completely different story, but their care must also be extremely delicate. They can be subject to mechanical damage - pills, shrink - they should be treated with special care.
• First of all – use gentle detergents for washing wool.
• If possible, wash on a program specifically designed for wool. If not, wash by hand.
• Use cold or lukewarm water.
• Do not tumble dry. After washing, lay the wet fabric flat
and leave to dry.
"Washing" in the freezer
Do you know this method? Put your jeans in the freezer for 24 to 48 hours. You can be sure that any bacteria will be frozen out. This method will not remove dirt, but it works when your jeans just need a refresh.
